This year literacy theme at Big Hollow is All-Star Readers! Room 104 will be hitting home runs with books this year(:

Room 104 will be a environment where every student feels safe and free to be their own self. Our classroom will be a welcoming space and each student's voice will be heard. As your child's teacher I will strive to create engaging lessons that make the learning process fun but also meaningful.

My Teaching Philosophy
My philosophy of teaching revolves around the belief that students bring with them a unique set of life experiences, culture, and style of learning. A young student’s family background and culture should be both recognized and celebrated in the classroom in order for them to feel a sense of belonging. I find great importance in involving community members into the learning process as well as incorporating the community into the curriculum.
|
I believe that integrating each subject area into units is very beneficial. My goal as a future educator is to have my student’s leave my classroom with skills that will help them become productive members of society. This teaching philosophy includes a personal challenge as a professional to bring a dynamic and fresh perspective to the classroom, believing that the role of the educator is to create teachable movements through a variety of methods.
